Heavy rain triggers yellow alert in three districts

Mangaluru: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted the likelihood of substantial to extremely heavy rainfall in the southern interior regions of Karnataka, which also encompasses Bengaluru. A yellow alert has been issued for three districts in the area.

There’s a possibility of rainfall at scattered locations in the following areas: Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri in northern interior Karnataka, Bengaluru Rural, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapura, Chikkamagaluru, Davanagere, Hassan, Kodagu, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru, Ramanagara, Shivamogga, Vijayanagar, and Tumakuru, lasting until November 7.

A yellow alert is in effect for the districts of Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, and Kodagu. According to the meteorological department’s forecast, in some areas of north interior Karnataka, the maximum temperature is expected to exceed normal levels by 2-3 degrees Celsius, while in a few locations within south interior Karnataka, a similar temperature rise is anticipated.
