Bantwal: Yashaswi, a hearing and speech impaired young lass from Kedila village of the Bantwal taluk, has won bronze in the women’s section of the International Chess Tournament held in the United Kingdom.
A student of class tenth at Kadeshivalaya High School, she currently stands 1300 in the FIDE rankings.
Born to Thimmappa Moolya and Yashoda, residents of Kudumanau of Kedila village in Bantwal taluk Yashwaswi undertook chess training at Genius chess school in Puttur. She won first place in the state level chess tournament held in Mysuru in November and also at the national level chess tournament held in Madhya Pradesh in December.
