HDK consoles police firing victims’ kin, gives each family Rs 5 lakhs

Mangaluru: Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, on Sunday, December 22, visited the houses of Jaleel (49) and Nausheen (23), who were killed during the police firing after violence broke during the protests, and consoled the family members.

Kumaraswamy first visited Nausheen’s house, located in Kudroli, and then proceeded to Jaleel’s house in Kanduka. After visiting and consoling the family members, he assured them his full support of their fight for justice. 

The JD(S) leader also gave each family a cheque worth Rs 5 lakhs.

Later, he proceeded to Unity Hospital to check on the condition of those who were injured in the violence that broke out on Thursday.

The former CM was accompanied by MLC B M Farooq, JD(S) leaders M B Sadashiva, Mohammed Kunhi, Akshith Suvarna and others.
