Haj Bhavan project will be expedited : Ramanatha Rai

Mangalore : State Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment and District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai and Mangalore North MLA Moidin Bava were felicitated on behalf of the Muslim Central Committee at a function held here on June 23, Sunday.

Responding to the felicitation conferred on him, Rai said the state government was committed to protect the interests of the backward classes and minorities. He said   chief  minister Siddaramaiah who comes from an AHINDA background is well aware of the problems of the backward classes and minorities and this will enable him to chalk out programmes for the betterment of the community.

On the proposed Haj Bhavan in Mangalore, Rai assured to hold consultations with the chief minister in this regard and ensure early implementation of the project.

The Muslim Central Committee  led by its President Mohammad Masood, placed forth a list of demands before the minister including  setting up of the Tipu Sultan University and thorough probe into the Panjimogaru double murder case. The Committee also sought the government help to Muslim youth affected by the Nitaqat Law of Saudi Arabia.

Kodijal Ibrahim, Vice President, Muslim Central Committee, Thwaka Ahmed Musliyar, Qazi of Mangalore and others were present on the occasion.
