Mangaluru: Security guard of Kotak Mahindra Bank died on Thursday after bullet of licensed double barrel gun pierced into his neck.

The police said the bank officials brought the incident to our notice. “The deceased has been identified as Tammayya (55), a security guard of the same bank”, DCP (crime) Vishnuwardhan, who arrived at the spot, told newskarnataka.com.

The incident took place when Tammayya was walking out of bathroom – located in the first floor – towards ground floor. The bullet has entered his neck from the licensed double barrel gun. It’s not sure, whether it’s by accident or a suicide attempt”, the Mangaluru East Police said.

The police informed he was employed at the bank three years back. He has been residing at Padil. The family of the deceased is located at Madikeri. He is survived by his two daughters who are married.
