Mangaluru: The media coverage informing arrest of Vishwanath Bhat, a close associate of Naresh Shenoy, the prime accused in RTI activist Vinayak Baliga has irked a section of GSB community, which, on Monday, May 9 submitted a memorandum to Commissioner of Police demanding legal action against the media houses which carried the faulty news.
Most media organisations had flashed the news of the arrest of Bhat, while the fact was that he was only called by the police for questioning due to his close association with Shenoy, who has been at large ever since the murder of Baliga.

“It is the clear example of irresponsible reporting. I appeal to all the media to verify facts before reporting,” the Commissioner said adding that further move will be taken after seeking legal advice.
