Puttur: A group of men attacked and threatened a rikshaw driver near Manjalpadpu Konkan H P Pump on Thursday, June 2.
The police have reportedly arrested one person in this regard.

Lavakumar (31), member of BMS Rikshaw drivers’ owners association is the victim.

The victim narrating the incident said, “When I was at the HP Pump to fill gas, another rikshaw driver skipped the line for which I questioned him. The rikshaw driver and another man who was with him assaulted me and threatened to set my rikshaw on fire. Then the duo dragged my vehicle near the temple and when I went there to get my vehicle back, they again attempted to assault me. They also tried to rob my gold chain and robbed Rs 2000 cash.”

The police based on the victim’s complaint have reportedly taken one person into custody.
