Bengaluru: The South Zone bench of National Green Tribunal (NGT), Chennai has given its consent for Yettinahole project in the private land.

Recently, Regional Empowered Committee (REC) formed by the Union government headed by IFS officer Shivaraj, had visited the project site and had submitted its recommendations to the tribunal.
Speaking to News Karnataka, environmentalist Dinesh Holla said that the officials of Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Ltd (KNNL) had submitted fake documents to the REC, in order to get permission for continuation of stalled work at the earliest. Learning this, the environmentalists submitted photo and video evidences that the project was being undertaken at forest land and not private land.
After going through the evidences, the REC submitted its report to the tribunal, which in turn passed its order on Friday January 8.
