Mangalore : The streets of Mangalore wore a colourful look on August 29, Thursday when Mosaru Kudike celebrations were held with pomp and gaiety at Attavar, Tokkottu, Kadri, Padil, Tokkottu and other places.














Pots filled with coloured water, curds etc were broken by enthusiastic youth who formed pyramids even as the crowd watched them with gaze.
The colourful tableaux depicting mythological sequences pertaining to Lord Krishna’s life were watched by people who had lined up on either sides of the streets.
Kadri too was one of the place where Mosaru Kudike was celebrated with great pomp under the aegis of the Kadri Friends Circle. There were Mosaru Kudike celebrations at Attavar too.
DK District Minister and State Minister for Forest and Ecology Ramanatha Rai too visited the place and witnessed the celebrations.
Various tiger dance troupes too added splendor to the celebrations.
Vittlapindi celebrations in Udupi :
Thousands of devotees also attended the Vittlapindi celebrations in Udupi on Thursday. There was Anna Santharpane for the devotees after the Paryaya seer offered special pooja to Sri Krishna-Mukhyaprana Lords. Later, the Vittlapindi celebrations were held at Carstreet in the presence of the Paryaya seer and Sri Vidyasagara Theertha Swamiji of Krishnapur Mutt.










The procession proceeded as people wearing the costumes of the Gollas or cowherds broke the pots enroute. Later the clay idol of Sri Krishna was immersed in the Madhwa Sarovar.
Hundreds of veshadharis including tiger dancers also enthralled the gathering.
