Manglauru: The annual feast of St Lawrence Church, Bondel was held here on Friday, August 10 with much devotion and fervour.

For the festive Mass, Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza was the main celebrant. Fr. Ronald Serrao, Professor at the Jeppu Seminary preached the Homily. Fr. Andrew Leo D’Souza, Parish Priest of Bondel Church, Rev. Fr. Andrew D’Souza, Parish Priest of Katipalla Church, Rev. Fr. Clifford Pinto, Principal of St Lawrence English Medium School and many guest Priests were the co-celebrants.

After the Mass, the Bishop presented blessed candles to the sponsors for the day. The Bishop was also felicitated by Fr. Andrew Leo D’Souza on behalf of parishioners.

A large number of devotees thronged the church premises to participate in the celebrations and seek blessings from the patron saint. Various stalls added to the festivity. Lunch was served to all the devotees.

The feast will culminate with a high Mass at 6.00 pm, which will be celebrated by the newly appointed Bishop of Mangaluru Msgr Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha.
