Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary instructed the Gram Panchayats to take the appropriate measures to control the price hike on essential commodities.

He made these directions during a video conference held at the Zilla Panchayat building. Selected Gram Panchayats of Puttur, Sullia and Belthangady taluks were part of the meeting.

Pointing out to the public’s complaints about the price hike on essential commodities, the Minister directed the Gram Panchayats keep an eye on the shops that come under their jurisdiction and ensure that they do not demand a price higher than the prescribed rate.
