Bantwal: Rohini(40), president of Kavalapadooru and a long-time Congress party worker breathed her last here at Tumbe hospital due to illness on October 11.

It is learnt that she was suffering from low blood pressure. She is survived by husband who works in Mumbai and two children.

She was the director of Women’s Cooperative Society and an active member of several organizations.

Minister Ramanath Rai, Taluk panchayat member B Padmashekar Jain, Vinay Nayak, zilla panchayat member Chandraprakash Shetty, Bantwal Block Congress president Mayilappa Salian, Siddakatte Vijaya Bank manager Baby Kunder, P Ginaraja Ariga and other party leaders rushed to the hospital to pay their last respect.
