Belthangady : The Government would give due priority towards education in rural areas and is also contemplating to introduce government school buses in its endeavour to encourage more students to join government schools, said Kimmane Ratnaker, State Minister for Primary and Secondary Education.
The Minister was speaking to pressmen after interacting with Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. D Veerendra Heggade on June 16, Sunday. The Minister further said the government would ensure that there is at least one teacher per every class.
In order to put an end to the problem arising out of shortage of teachers in government schools, as many as 12000 honorary teachers would be recruited very soon, the Minister informed.
He further stated that in order to ensure that no post of teacher is vacant during an academic year, teachers retiring between June 1 and March 31, will be asked to serve till the end of the academic year. They are not only entitled retirement benefits from the day of retirement, but also their full pay till March 31, the Minister informed.
