Mangaluru: Gold worth Rs. 20.89 lakh illegally transported by a passenger arriving from Dubai at Bajpe International Airport, Mangaluru has been seized.

The passenger hails from Kasaragod, and landed in the airport travelling on an Air India Express flight from Dubai. Upon inspection, it was found that the accused had placed the gold weighing 430 gms in the rectum after powdering it and mixing it with the gum.

The accused has been detained and is being investigated.
