Mangaluru: The officers of Customs at Mangalore International Airport on Wednesday seized six numbers of ten tola gold bars, totally weighing about 700 grams by a passenger who arrived from Dubai. The value of smuggled gold is estimated to be over at Rs.18 lakhs.

According to the press release, the passenger had brought the six numbers of ten tola bars by concealing them in his rectum. The passenger Mohammed Sharoon, aged about 22 years, is a resident of Kandathpalli, Mangaluru. He arrived at Mangalore International Airport on by Jet Airways from Dubai. Further investigation is under progress, the release issued by N. Udayashankaran, Assistant Commissioner of Customs, Airport, Mangaluru.
