Moodbidri: The victims of the fraudulent Varidhi Charitable Trust’s gift scheme which cheated people of lakhs have demanded that the police nab the four culprits who decamped with lakhs of their money.

Divakar, Suresh B G, Niranjan K from Markunja village in Sullia and Bharath from Guthigar in Sullia had appointed many people as agents of this trust with the promise of commission.

Out of total 52 installments Rs: 100 per person, the miscreants drew the money of 35 installments and disappeared with money without informing the agents. The Trust office is locked and the partners are not traceable. It is learnt that 150 members were working under 40 agents in Moodbidri. Innocent and poor people have been duped of Rs: 30 lakhs using this Varidhi scheme.

The culprits have also cheated many people in Sullia, Karkala and Belthangady it is said.

A case has been registered at Moodbidri police station.

Umesh, Divakar, Vamana Prabhu, Suresh, Lokesh Shettigar, Sukumar and Devraj those who were cheated by the trust said that the accused must be arrested and money should be returned to the victims. Stern action should be taken against Varidhi Trust, they urged.
