Mangalore: The employees of “Garuda Security and Personnel Services”, a security agency at Pumpwell, gathered in front of their office and demanded justice as their salaries are not yet paid, on Friday November 15.






They accused the proprietor of the company, stating the proprietor is absconding and has cheated them by not paying their dues. Around 20 employees gathered in from of the office that has been closed for more than a week.
The proprietor Sabheesh Kumar and manager Beju, both from Kerala, are out of reach and their mobile phones are switched off.
A worried employee, Valerian Pinto (74) from Kadri said, “I had recently joined the company to manage finances and I am much in need of money.”
“I joined work at this age due to my financial crises; I have not been paid since October”, he added.
M Vijay Kumar Bhat who has been working for the company since four years said, “Initially the company would pay me properly but for the last two months they haven’t paid me a since penny.”
“The company has its employees working as security guards in KMC Hospital, Jyothi, Mandovi Motors, LG and Ocean Pearl. There are nearly 100 security men and no salary has been paid to any of them. More than 40 security guards of KMC Hospital will have no problem as another security agency has promised to take them over but around 60 employees have to be paid salary of two months,” he added.
A few employees also showed cheques issued by the proprietor which bounced.
The employees have approached the labor court and also lodged a complaint in the police station but no action has been taken yet
