Gang attack on two youth, sparks tension in Bantwal

Bantwal : Tension prevails  in Bantwal following an  incident wherein two youth were attacked by a group at Kelaginapete on November 5, Tuesday night. The incident took place in front of the local police station.

The injured youth are Kiran D’Souza and Lokesh of Jakribettu. There is information that the assault followed a dispute that cropped up over cattle transportation  at a place caller Parla near Sarapady on November 5, Tuesday evening. However, the exact motive of the attack is not known.

As the news of the attack spread like wild fire, people belonging to both Hindu and Muslim community began gathering in large numbers  giving room for tension.

Senior police officials including the SP have visited the spot.  Kabbal Raj, Sub-Inspector of Bantwal Town police station and other personnel are keeping a strict vigil to avert any further untoward incident.
