Fugitives Caught After Escaping Court Hearing

Mangaluru: On Tuesday, February 27, two fugitives who had evaded court appearances were apprehended. The arrested individuals are Imran (31), a resident near Jokatte government school, and Dharmaveer (30) from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Imran had been on the run after securing bail in a 2020 conspiracy-to-commit-robbery case registered at Bajpe police station. Dharmaveer had been elusive for nearly two years, failing to appear in court during the trial after obtaining bail in a 2021 road accident case where the victim died.

The police successfully located and presented both accused before the court. Imran also faced charges related to cattle theft in Mangalore city, Dakshina Kannada, and Udupi district.

Under the guidance of Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal, and directed by DCPs Siddharth Goel and B P Dinesh Kumar, ACP Manoj Kumar of Mangaluru North sub-division, and Inspector Sandeep G S of Bajpe police station, the operation was led by SIs Guru Kanti, Revanasiddappa, Ravi N N, Shoba, and ASI Rama Poojary, Jagdish Puttur, Rohit Haleangady, Rashid Sheikh, Dayanand, Sujan, and Basavaraj Patil.
