Kasaragod: The Paravoor Police arrested four men linked to Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) in connection with the murder of Akhil Bharat Vidyarthi Parishat (ABVP) activist Shyam Prasad on January 19.
The arrested have been identified as Mohammed (20), Salim (26), Samir (25) and Hashim (39).
Police also seized the car in which the four accused were travelling. The murder was politically motivated, confirmed police.
Shyam Prasad, an ITI student, riding on his bike was hacked to death by four men, who came in a car near Kolayad.
Efforts to save him had failed as he succumbed to injuries at Kuthuparamba hospital.
BJP had called for a 12-hour bandh in Kannur district on January 20, following the incident.
