Kasargod : In a suspected case of suicide, the charred bodies of four members of a family including two children were found at their residence near Cherupuzha in Kannur in the early hours of August 19, Monday.
The deceased are Saji (42), his wife Sindhu (31), their children Adhira(10) and Athulya (5). Local residents rushed towards the house on hearing the sound of a blast at around 2 am. The police and fire brigade personnel too arrived and found the four bodies inside a room. Kerosene and petrol cans too were found inside the house. The suspicion is that Saji, a carpenter by profession might have poisoned his wife and children and then set the house on fire.
Kannur SP Rahul R Nair visited the spot. A case has been registered at the Cherupoya police station. The cause of the mass suicide is yet to be ascertained.
