Mangaluru: In politics, there are no permanent friends and foes. Likewise, even for the party workers, their love and reverence for a particular leader changes when the latter shifts loyalty.

In a disheartening scene noticed at Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee office in Mangaluru, some miscreants, in all possibility, some worker of the party ended up defacing former chief minister S M Krishna’s face on the banner put up on one of the walls of the office.

The DCC office has a huge banner running across a wall bearing pictures of all the chief ministers of Karnataka (from the Congress party) ranging from K Chengalaraya Reddy to S Siddaramaiah. However, in the banner, S M Krishna’s face has been defaced and what is all the more disheartening is a writing on the forehead which reads “Kalla Krishna” (Krishna, the thief).

The move has undoubtedly been driven by anger against the leader who joined the BJP after being a part of Congress for several decades.
