Mangaluru: Though the flex and hoardings ruining the beauty of the city, they are being put up by violating the guidelines in the city. The divider (road median) on the stretch between Ladyhill and Urwa Market is now full of flex, wishing success to the inaugural programme of the newly constructed Urwa Market.

Condemning this, an environmentalist Shashidhar Shetty has done a Facebook live which has received a big response on social media.

Huge cutouts of different elected representatives District In-charge Minister U T Khader, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Mayor Bhaskar K, Deputy Mayor Mohammed K, former minister Ramanatha Rai were put up on the divider of the road. A cutout of former MLA J R Lobo is also flaunted on the divider. But, those who put this up have promoted J R Lobo from MLA to Minister. It is because the flex says he is the former minister!

Hence, an environmentalist Shashidhar Shetty went live on Facebook on the issue and took the elected representatives on the flex to task. He also questioned the elected representatives why they allowed such flex on road dividers although it ruins the beauty of the city. He has also reminded the elected representatives that though they have done some of the development works, it was from the money of the people only.
