Mangaluru: Five youth allegedly assaulted a Project Development Officer (PDO) under the Mallur Gram Panchayat (GP) for instructing them to mask up.

It has been reported that PDO Rajendra Shetty requested the five youth bear GP office on Tuesday May 25 to mask up. One of the assaulters identified as Abubakar along with four others in a fit of rage assaulted the PDO, it is said.

Mangaluru Rural Police have registered a case under IPC sections 332, 504, 34 and section 5(1) of the Karnataka Epidemic Act in this regard.
