Kasargod: In a horrific road accident, five people died and seven were critically injured after speeding lorry rammed into their jeep in Nayabazar Uppala, here on Monday, July 9.

It is gathered that the accident occurred when the jeep on its way to Mangaluru from Palakkad collided against the lorry. Four people died on the spot, while one died on the way to the hospital. Seven people who were critically injured in the accident have been rushed to the spot.

The deceased are Bhifathima (65), Asma (30) Naseema (38), Mustak (41) and Imtiyaz(35), all from KC Road Talapady.

Manjeshwara police rushed to the spot.
