Bantwal: “In the state already 3.48 lakhs of applications have been received under section 94-C. By March 3, all the applications will be reviewed and government will distribute the title deeds to the eligible. Also governor has given his consent for the implementation of section 94CC rule for the people living in urban area”, said revenue minister V Shrinivas Prasad.

He was speaking after distributing title deeds to the beneficiaries on February 6 at Loretto Hall, Ammadi village, Bantwal Taluk. Minister for Revenue V. Sreenivas Prasad launched the programme and the title deeds to eligible applicants in the presence of Ministers under section 94-C, were distributed in Bantwal Vidhana Sabha limits.
For the first time in Karnataka, 200 beneficiaries received the title deeds in Bantwal Vidhana Sabha constituency of Dakshina Kannada under the akrama sakrama programme of the state government. The revenue minister congratulated Minister Ramanath Rai and revenue officials for the successful implementation of the programme. Dejappa B from Kadeshivalya village was the first beneficiary.
In addition, 10 people received cheques under the Chief minister’s fund, 26 people were given cheques under the National Family Benefit Scheme and 405 people were distributed various pension payments under Social security scheme.
“The Revenue department of Dakshina Kannada is role model for the whole state. Departments in other districts and taluks of the state also will be asked to speed up the work pending. People’s representatives and officials role is essential to implement the government schemes successfully”, the minister said. The district commissioners in the gram panchayat limits have been asked to reserve government land for the burial-grounds, he added.
In Karnataka, there are 4.41 lakhs of podi cases, so the government has plans to solve all the cases by March 2016. In this regard 1700 surveyors have been given training and appointed. In Dakshina Kannada 53 surveyors and 52 in Udupi, have been appointed, he stated.
“We do not ask for votes by disturbing communal harmony like others. The Siddaramaiah government is in favor of all the sections of the society. We have social as well as economic schemes for the welfare of the people, he said. While speaking about Manaswini, Maithri pension schemes, our plan is to deliver the government schemes directly without any interference of the middleman”, he averred.
Minister Abhayachandra Jain, district panchayath president Asha Thimmappa Gowda, members, Mangalore assistant commissioner Dr D R Ashok and others were present.
District commissioner A B Ibrahim welcomed the beneficiaries and dignitaries and delivered the introductory speech. Bantwal Tahsildar Mohammad Isaac rendered vote of thanks. Jayaram compered the programme.
