Mangalore: Under a unique initiative, the first Post Shoppe of South Karnataka Region was inaugurated by the Assistant General Manager of the State Bank of Mysore Venugopal at the Hampankatta Post office on Thursday January 23.

The Post Master of Karnataka Division  Arundathi Ghosh presided over the function whereas L K Das,  Director of Postal Services in South Karnataka Region addressed the audience and introduced the gathering to the concept of Post Shoppe.

He said that Post Shoppe will  provide supplementary services to the postal customers including envelopes, greeting cards, stationary equipment and items at low price.Other accessories and books are also on sale in the shoppe.
