First-ever chartered Kuwai-M’luru flight arranged by KCWA lands in MIA

Mangaluru: The Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA), with the help of Al Rashed International Travel – Kuwait, arranged a first-ever chartered flight from Kuwait to Mangaluru, landed at the Mangaluru International Airport on Friday, August 28 night.

The flight – Kuwait Airways Flight # KU 1739 – departed from Kuwait on Friday at 2.15 pm with 108 adults, six children and four infants on board on board. KCWA vice president Michael Pinto saw the passengers off at the Kuwait International Airport, along with the committee members and representative of the Al Rashed Int’l Travel – Kuwait, Wilfred D’Cunha, who is also a committed member of the KCWA.

During the current COVID-19 pandemic, many people were stranded in Kuwait and were hoping to be able to travel back to their hometown. In order to help these individuals, he KCWA took the initiative to support its brethren get home safely.

The flight landed at the Mangalore International Airport at 9.14 pm later in the day and the passengers were welcomed by KCWA president Maria Rinna D’Souza, along with her team.

Kuwait Airways, Al Rashed Int’l Travel, and others supported this project. KCWA managing committee has expressed their gratitude to its members, communities, and individuals who supported this project and in a special, thanked and lauded KCWA Member Wilfred D’Cunha, who is the Team Member of Al Rashed International Travel Kuwait. The organisation has also thanked the Indian Embassy Kuwait, DCGA Kuwait, DGCA India, Karnataka State Government Nodal Officer Meena Nagaraj and Mangaluru International Airport Authorities and Manish, Nodal Officer who helped arrange taxi services to transport the passengers to their homes. The KCWA also thanks Web Administrator Allan D’Souza for efficiently coordinating and updating the progress of the project on the website in a timely manner.
