Mangaluru: Karnataka Beary Sahithya Academy has announced that the first Beary Literary and Cultural Conference in collaboration with the ‘Meltene’ (Beary Elthkar Pinney Kalavidammaroo Koota, Deralakatte) will be held on March 27 at Madani PU College, Alekal of Ullal taluk.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday March 12 at the academy’s office, Rahim Ucchil, president of the academy said “this is the first Beary Literary Conference to be held after the announcement of the Ullal Taluk. It is also the first Beary literary conference in the history of the Beary movement. Alikunya Parey, has been elected president of the conference.”
Padma Shri awardee Harekala Hajabba will inaugurate the Conference. Rahim Uchill, president of the academy, will preside over the event. The event will be held in the presence of welcome committee Chairman Dr KM Munir Bawa, Councillor of Ullal muncipality Asghar Ali and Ismail UA. Vice President of Madani Education, Haji UK Imbrahim, President of Meltene Mansoor Ahmad Samanige, former member of Barry Academy, Fazal Asaigoli, Member of State Minority Development Corporation, Siraj Mudipu, and State Haj committee member, Hanif Nizami are the invited guests.
The closing ceremony will be inaugurated by MLA UT Khader. The guests will include Chitrakala, Chairperson of Ullala Municipality, Ayub Manchil, Vice President of Ullal Muncipality, Muhammed Monu, President of Mangalore Taluk Panchayat, Santosh Kumar Rai Boliyaru, Chairman of The Mysore Industries Ltd. State Tramp and Quasi Tramp corporation president Ravindra Shetty Ulidottu, Kanachur Monu, Chairperson of DK Zilla Waqf Advisory Committee, Haji Abdul Rasheed Ullal, Chairman of Ulala Syed Madani Dargah Committee and BA Muhammad Hanif, Former President of Barry Sahitya Academy are expected to participate in the event.
Special invitees include Dr Aboobacker Siddique, Co-ordinator of Beary study centre of Mangaluru University.
Member of the Faculty Advisory Committee, Ibrahim Kodijal, Member of Mangaluru University Beary Diploma Course, KM Aboobacker Siddique Montugoli, Beary Scripting and Research Committee Member Dr Abdul Rasheed Zaini Kamil Sakhafi, Haider Ali Keelari and AK Kukkila, Social leaders Hyder Parthipady, Nazeer Ullal and Farooq Ullal are expected to attend.
There will be two poetry conferences and two seminars, cultural program, speech competition, cooking competition and mehndi competition. 15 Achievers are going to be honoured at the event.
The reception committee was chaired by Dr KM Muneer Bawa, Meltene President Mansur Ahmed Samanige and Beary Academy member Shamsheer Budoli.
