Moodbidri: Fight between migrant labourers resulted in the death of one. The incident that took place in Beluvai here came to light on Monday morning.

The deceased is identified as Shiva (30), son of Balappa, a resident of Ilakal in Bagalkote. He was employed as a loader at a stone quarry here, owned by a person named Chethana.

The ones allegedly involved in the crime are Rangappa and Kumar who work at the same stone quarry and Rajkumar, employed as a supplier in a local bar.

According to sources, a fight erupted between Rajkumar’s father Mangalappa, Kumar and Shiva in Beluvai market on Sunday afternoon. In connection to this, another brawl occurred in the night at Madakapale, the area where they stay. These men who are said to be in an inebriated state, allegedly hit Shiva with a stick and murdered him.

Rajkumar, Rangappa and Kumar have been taken into police custody. Investigation is underway, police sources informed. Moodbidri Circle Inspector Ananthapadmanabha has registered a case.
