Mangalore : At the Grama Sabha of Ganjimutt Gram Panchayat held on January 30, Thursday, villagers expressed their anguish over the irregular water supply to Kukkatte in Mogaru village, and threatened to end their lives blaming the Panchayat.


The villagers questioned whether they were deprived of water due to some political rivalry. They wanted to know why no action is taken even if the gate valve was turned.
The GP President G Pundalik Kamath tried to persuade the agitated villagers by stating that a bore well would be dug in the area. He also promised that the Panchayat toeam would visit the place at the earliest.
Residents of Gandhinagar area too poured out their water problem. The GP chief assured to visit the place and rectify the problem.
The PDO G Chidananda informed that meeting that beneficiaries under Rajeev Gandhi Housing Scheme are entitled for loans upto Rs 1.2 lakhs provided they own land.
Yet another complaint that was heard was that no step has been taken to repair the computer of Malali Government High School even after a year. The GP President assured to look into the same and do the needful.
