Mangalore: The heavy showers that occurred since the last few days have left major connecting areas around Moodushedde flooded.









Along with the heavy rains, the nearby dam has started gushing and the Phalguni River has crossed the danger mark, and is overflowing.
As the district experienced heavy rains on Saturday July 19, there was a rise in the dam water level. However without giving any notification to the nearby resident the dam water was released that flooded the entire area.
The locals alleged that no warning was given by the authorities that has flooded several houses and nearby fields around Moodushedde.
Ramanath Athar, a resident of Moodushedde the water level has reached to an extent that the fields are completely drowned in it and crops such as paddy, sugarcane and others have been damaged.
“The loss incurred is huge”, he said.
The resident have decided will submit a memorandum to the DC urging action against the power company which released the dam water.
