Mangaluru: While Mother Teresa was canonized in Vatican by Pope Francis, a road in Mangaluru was named after her and was made public on Sunday, September 4. Mangaluru South constituency MLA JR Lobo inaugurated the name board.
Earlier the statue of St. Teresa was blessed at Mother Theresa’s Missionaries of Charity/Home for poor at Falnir. Superior of Mother Teresa home Sr. Bernadette welcomed the gathering.
A procession of devotees followed from the home to Milagres church. Around 500 people joined the holy procession soon after the blessing of the statue. The procession witnessed the devotion of the people who were a part of this great ceremony.
Holy Eucharistic celebration was held at Milagres church presided over by Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza. Inaugural ceremony of 2 books in the memory of Mother Teresa and our Lady of Fatima was conducted soon after the mass.
