Expectant women files domestic violence case against husband, in-laws

Puttur: A pregnant woman has filed domestic violence case against her husband, father in-law, mother in-law and sister in-law at Sampya Police station, on May 20, alleging that due to the torture from the said family members, she had lost her child in the womb.

The victim, Priya, daughter of Gansh, a resident of Parappana Agrahara new road was married off to Bhargava Bhat, son of Narayana Bhat, resident of Bettampadi here in 2002.

The couple lived in Bengaluru after wedding. After a while, Bhargava is said to have taken all of his wife’s gold and pledged it with a financing company on the pretext of starting his own business.

When the plans did not work out, he then again started harassing her for money to start yet another business.

In her complaint, the lady has said that she lost her child in the womb during eighth month of pregnancy due to the torture from her husband and in-laws.

While she had filed a complaint with the Parappana Agrahara police, they have transferred the case to Sampya police.
