Mangalore:  Shashiraj Shetty who recently quit the Janata Dal(S) has said that he would shortly be joining the Congress along with his supporters.

Speaking to reporters here on April 18, Thursday, Shetty said  confusion prevailed in the JD(S) after some leaders began to use the party for their own selfish gains. He said he along with MG Hegde had struggled to strengthen the party in the district for two years.

He said a party which was trying to establish itself in the district is biting the dust owing to the selfish motives of some leaders including District President MB Sadashiva. He said the leaders could not tolerate him and MG Hegde struggling for the party. He said it was a known fact that  Sushil Noronha had virtually sold the B forms.

He said  the attempts of Amarnath Shetty to blackmail the leadership by threatening to quit was a part of a ploy to expel someone from the party or to fulfill his demand. He also urged the leadership of making money by fielding dummy candidates during election.
