Even almighty not safe ! Theft in temple, gold-cash stolen

Bantwal: Thieves on September 3, wednesday burgled Shree Agnidurge Brahmalingeshwara temple in Bambila of Moodupadukodi village in Bantwal.

They entered from the back door, broke the Agnidurge and Brahmalingeshwara Garbhagudi door and robbed gold ornaments put on the idols.

Then they entered the temple office and robbed gold, things kept for benison, cash and escaped.

Police have found broken locker and other weapons like sword, mandrel used to break the door at the spot. They have also left fingerprints on the wall while escaping from the spot.

Gold worth 14 pounds and 30,000 cash has been robbed from the temple said temple trustee Raghava Suvarna. The theft might have taken place at between 1.30am and 5am, they suspected.

Belthangady circle inspector Lingappa and Punjalakatte police arrived to the spot. Dog squad and finger print experts have also come to the spot.

Soon after getting the information regarding theft Member of Backward classes commssion Tungappa Bangera, Prakash Anchan, Purushptthama Anchan, Vishwanatha Shamboor urged to arrest the culprits soon.
