Kasargod: A 22-year-old engineering student drowned at a dam while taking bath, here on April 14 near Kuthikol.

The deceased has been identified as Javvar from Rajapura Balal.

Javvar along with his friends entered the water to take bath. His friends who managed to come out tried to rescue him but all their efforts went in vain.

They immediately informed the fire services and locals. His body was retrieved and was shifted to nearby hospital but he was declared brought dead by the doctors.

Rajapura police have registered a case in this regard.

The body is kept at Kanjangad district hospital mortuary.
