Mangaluru: As actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha was in the city for campaigning in favour of coalition candidate Mithun Rai , a grand programme was scheduled at Kadri ground on Sunday, April 14 at around 6 pm. However, the programme was delayed as the Congress star campaigner reached the city late.

Soon after he landed at Mangaluru, he rushed to Mudipu to address party’s public meeting and to seek votes for party’s candidate Mithun Rai. He was expected to address the gathering at Kadri ground soon after. However, due to his tight schedule, he left the city without attending the Kadri meeting. The communication gap between the party leaders and party workers was visible as most of the chairs arranged for the event were vacant. Also, most of the party workers were upset by the way the event was handled as many of them gathered to see star politician Shatrughan Sinha.

The event strongly spoke of the poor organising skills and seriousness of the party workers of the national party even when the elections are only a few days away.
