
Mangaluru: Actor turned politician Upendra opined that the political parties’ election manifestos should be released only after it is approved by the court of law.
Addressing mediapersons at Patrika Bhavan on Wednesday, April 3, Upendra said, “Though the budget available is only Rs 2 Lakh Crore, the expense of the some of the parties’ manifesto exceeds Rs 5 Lakh Crore. In reality, it is not possible to implement any of these projects mentioned in the manifesto. Hence, the election manifestos should be furnished before the court and it should be released only after receiving approval.”
Meanwhile, Upendra informed that his party Uttama Prajakeeya Party (UPP) would collect the demands and the opinions of the public before releasing its manifesto.
Upendra also informed that UPP would contest from all the 28 constituencies in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. As UPP would strive hard to safeguard the essence of the democracy, people should support the candidate of UPP, he said.
