Bantwal: In an incident that puts humanity to shame, an elderly couple was brutally beaten up by a gang belonging to another community. The couple is now admitted to an ICU of a private hospital.

After a verbal clash turned physical between two community members following an accident in Kalladka yesterday, Ahmed Kaka (75) and his wife Mariamma (65), were assaulted by a gang when they were on their way back from a doctor’s clinic on late Monday evening.

They were admitted to Highland Hospital.

Condemning the assault, former mayor and President of Dakshina Kannada Muslim Union K Ashraf, and representatives Hameed Kudroli, CM Musthafa, UN Bava, Moideen Monu have demanded stern and immediate action against the accused.
