Mangaluru: Additional-Director General of Police Alok Mohan said that all necessary arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the Zilla Panchayat and the Taluk Panchayat polls.
Addressing a news conference, following a review meet on Wednesday, the ADGP said that in three districts of Western Range, ie Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Chikkamagaluru there are 2737 booths in total, out of these 268 are identified as hyper sensitive, 732 are sensitive and 1583 are normal areas. Also 154 naxal areas have been identified, out of which out of which 61 are in Dakshina Kannada, 54 in Udupi, and 39 are in Chikkamagaluru.

With regard to naxal activities, the ADGP said that though there are no naxal activities in the region all precautionary measures will be taken. Further, he said that meetings have been held with the Kerala police and the border security forces.

IGP Amrit Paul, police commissioner Chandra Sekhar, SP Dr Sharanappa, Chikkamagalur SP Santhosh Babu and others were present.
