Eight suspected COVID-19 cases tested negative in DK

Mangaluru: What comes as a sigh of relief to the coastal district, all the eight suspected COVID-19 cases have been tested negative. Meanwhile, 11 fresh samples have been sent for testing, results of which are now awaited.

Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh informed that as many as 377 persons were screened on Sunday, March 15, among them 106 were advised home quarantine. A total of nine persons, who had symptoms of coronavirus infection were admitted to private hospitals in the city.

DC Sindu asked people not to fall prey to rumours and not to be panic about the situation. She also reiterated the need for those returning from abroad to undergo at least 14 days of home quarantine.
