Mangaluru: Veteran Congressman B Janardhan Poojary on Saturday January 30, demanded Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to sack Ballari District In-Charge Minister PT Parameshwar Naik and reinstate Anupama Shenoy as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP).

It may be recalled that DySP Shenoy was transferred twice in two days, first to Athani in Belagavi district and then to Sindgi taluk in Bijapur. Naik, who is also the Labour Minister, had boasted that he had got the officer transferred for not picking up his call.

According to reports, Naik was pressurizing the DySP to rescue one of his relatives who is allegedly involved in a murder case. Poojary said such a Minister in the state cabinet is a black spot to the party.

Further speaking Poojary said that because of leaders like him in the party, the Congress workers are not able to answer the public and hence he should be sacked immediately. He questioned the CM and the State Party President if they would remain silent if the BJP was in power and one of its ministers did the same. Meanwhile, he also demanded that officer Shenoy should be reinstated as the Ballari DySP and thereby show the world that the Congress indeed stands for justice and the public.
