Mangaluru: DySP M K Ganapathi’s response to a question posed to him during a TV interview cannot be considered as a dying declaration, said Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee working president Dinesh Gundu Rao, while addressing a press conference in the city on Saturday, July 16.
When queried whether the ruling party will consider the statement of a very senior lawyer that the DYSP’s statement was a dying declaration, Gundu Rao told that it was not about seniority, but a question of law.
“The government has responded to M.K.Ganapathy favourably. Even after his suspension, he was given promotion and thereafter he was posted in the special branch in Bengaluru. On his request, he was transferred to Mangaluru, because his family was here and he asked for it. Till now there is no evidence for any of the allegations made against K.J.George, former home minister and all these are evidences that there was no harassment over Ganapathi. Till now there is not even a single proof that he was harassed,” said Gundu Rao.
“There is no evidence against A.M.Prasad ADGP (intelligence) and Lokayukta IGP Pronab Mohanty also. He has never worked under Mohanty anytime, but he has allegations against him too. It is a fact that Ganapathy had worked under A.M.Prasad eight years ago. Just to please everybody, the government cannot act unreasonably. A clear decision has been taken by the government and all will stand by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah” he added.
