Mangaluru: Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), along with few like-minded organisations staged a protest rally-‘Talapady Chalo’ from Thokottu to Talapady, against the inordinate delay in completion of the widening of NH 66 and construction of flyovers at Pumpwell and Thokkottu Junctions, here on Sunday, August 5.
Addressing the gathering, DYFI State President Muneer Katipalla said, “MP Nalin Kumar Kateel is No 1 MP in lying. He is only interested in communal and hate political and not in development. Due to the delay in completion of the said projects, several people have lost their lives in mishaps. The MP has never spoken about the victims who died in the road accident but he is interested only in the politics of Hindu-Muslim conflict.”
People have to bear the burden of toll fees, despite the incompletion of roadworks on the National Highway. Hence in the coming days, we have to decide to hold a campaign opposing the toll collection, Katipalla added.
DYFI district president BK Immthiyaz, Jivanraj Kuthar and others were present.
