Udupi: “In the up-coming Lok Sabha polls public need change and wants to get rid of Congress because of the never-ending issues that are still faced by the common man under the Congress rule. Even though India has 60% human resource we don’t have a flourishing economy. Price rise has become a common phenomenon and the Congress has failed to control Naxalism and terrorists activities also,” said former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda.

He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a convention of the Udupi assembly constituency unit of the BJP at Sharada Hall on January 14, Tuesday.
Gowda further said “This year the Lok Sabha election will witness 12.5 crore new voters in the country and 55 Lac in the state. For this election BJP has a new agenda, as per that more than manifesto, importance will be given to three aspects – protection of our country from infiltrators from neighbouring countries, choosing the right candidates for all constituencies and promoting brotherhood.”
Gowda said that CM Siddaramaiah has lost his self respect in the state. The inclusion of D K Shivkumar and Roshan Baig will affect the Congress in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. “However many leaders from various political parties showed interest in joining BJP and Tejaswini Gowda is one among them. She has no demands, rather she prefers working for the party, “ Gowda further added.
Gowda made a point that he would prefer contesting from Udupi-Chikamaglur Lok Sabha constituency if his party prefers so. He said that the Congress has no roots in any state and thinks that it can manage to win good number of seats in Karnataka. Hence, they are trying to concentrate on Karnataka. But it is just an illusion, he remarked.
He ridiculed the offer by Union Transport Minister Oscar Fernandez made to Rahul Gandhi to contest from Karnataka.
“Congress is scared of the youth power and their spirit of supporting Narendra Modi as PM, so they are misusing the government machinery to win the election by hook or crook. Therefore, technical reasons are given for not releasing the voter list”, he added.
Gowda demanded that district administration should immediately release the voters list in Udupi. He predicted that the BJP would win more than 300 seats in the Lok Sabha polls.
