Mangaluru: In a tragic mishap, a group of five medical students who were plying from Derlakatte towards Mangaluru met with a gruesome mishap at Kukkudakatte near KSHEMA College, on Thursday evening at about 8.30 pm. The condition of two is said to be critical.
The five have been identified as MBBS students Mathew Varghese, George Rohan, Kaushik Thomas, Samshad and Rajeev.

The students hailing from Kerala were reportedly in an inebriated state when their Honda City car bearing Kerala registration number KL 13 Q 9696 hit an electric pole.

They were out of Meeting Point Bar minutes before the mishap occurred.

A stock of alcoholic drink was found in the car.

Konaje police have arrived at the spot.
