Moodbidri: The Palace ground, Vidyagiri witnessed an exciting concert of fabulous music by a band of magician musicians. Heat was generated in the cold atmosphere of Vidyagiri when renowned drummer Sivamani came the stage. Violinist Balashankar, Keyaboardist Stephen Devassy, Sachin and and Sivamani on drums created harmonious melodies with their prodigious talent.

The concert started with simple music of hamsadhwani. Sivamani made people wonder if anything could be an instrument. Using simple things like water to a suit case, huge drums Sivamani took the audience through the world of percussion.

When the band played renowned music like ‘Ninorita’, ‘Ashique’, ‘jai ho’, the crowd rose in unison. The ‘mela’ ended with impactful song “ raghupathi ragava rajaram”

Exciting journey of ‘string struck’

It was a pleasant evening that witnessed a magnificent fusion of eastern and western music ‘string struck’ at  palace ground, vidyagiri.

The amazing journey of music started with the raga ‘shree’ enriching the beauty of dusk. sitar by Purbayan Chatterjee hit the soul of audience. Taufiq qureshi was on the drums and left the audience star struck, while Aditya kalyanpur, Sridhar Parthasarathy performed a fusion of the Tabla and Mridangam.

Atul Raninga and Deepak pandit presented their excellence in Keyboard and Violin. Vocalist Kshitij Tarey added  melody to the journey.

The fabulous piece “Lullaby” reminded the audience of the innocence of a kid. Taufiq’s excellence in creating music by various methods using his mouth thrilled the audience.The journey ended with the  popular songs like ‘raghupathi raghava rajaram’, ‘sare jahan se accha’ and vande mataram.’
