Mangaluru: The City Crime Branch sleuths have arrested a marijuana peddler at Toll Gate in Talapady on Saturday, July 21.

The arrested has been identified as Keshava Sanil(47) resident of Krishnapura Katipalla.

According to police, while the accused was making efforts to smuggle the ganja to the city, acting on a tip-off, police arrested Keshava Sanil in Toll Gate in Talapady and confiscated 1.830 kg cannabis, a mobile phone and Hyundai Eon car from the accused. The total worth of the seized goods is estimated to be Rs 2,85,500 Lakhs. According to the police, the accused borrowed cannabis from a man in Kerala and sell it in around the city.

Accused Keshava Sanil is a notorious criminal who has been booked in 15 criminal cases for involving in murder, attempting to murder, Indian Arms Act, drug peddling in the various police stations in the city and in Karkala, Udupi district.
