Drivers warned against cramming school kids in vehicles

Bantwal :  Raghavendra T.R., inspector in Vittal police station has warned drivers  ferrying school children of stern action if they were found cramming children in the vehicles.

He gave this warning at a meeting  of the school development committees, school  vehicle drivers as well as drivers and owners of vehicles  ferrying school children. The meet was held at Vittal police station on Tuesday June 24.

The Inspector warned the school vehicle authorities to transport children as per the rules of the department. The drivers should  have all documents in their possession and a copy of the same should be submitted to the school as well as the station.

He also instructed the drivers to take utmost care in dropping the children to school and back home.

Raghavendra further directed  autorickshaw drivers  against charging excessive fares over  and above the  fixed fares. He also directed autorickshaw drivers on duty during night time to intimate the police station and also pass on information to the police if they find any suspicious persons.

To a complaint  regarding the traffic problem on the  main road due to haphazard parking of vehicles,  he said the PWD as well as the local  panchayat would be appealed to develop the road.
